Matcha Set @ Ceramics in the City

Join us for a relaxing and creative morning as you craft your own handmade matcha set! In this one-time class, you’ll learn to throw a matcha bowl and whisk holder using stoneware clay on the pottery wheel. No experience? No problem—this class is great for beginners and returning potters alike.

Once your pieces are made, we’ll handle the bisque and glaze firings. You’ll select your favorite from our collection of beautiful stoneware glazes to finish your custom set. Your creations will be ready for pickup a few weeks after class.

Pottery is a hands-on, sometimes splashy adventure! We provide each student with a towel during class, but we recommend wearing clothes you don’t mind getting a little messy. Towels help keep your hands and lap clean while throwing, and they’re all you really need at the wheel.
